Kinema Junpo, the oldest film magazine in Japan, has been honouring Japanese films and individuals since 1927. The 2019 award winners were recently announced, and we’re thrilled to see some of our own Japanese Film Festival 2019 films included!

Director Koji Fukada’s A Girl Missing secured the 4th spot for best Japanese films, with actor Sosuke Ikematsu receiving the best actor award. In addition, Just Only Love, directed by Rikiya Imaizumi, was 8th, and Ryo Narita received the best-supporting actor award.

A special award was given to the late Makoto Wada.
