Cosy like a warm cup of tea on a rainy day
One of the most talented and celebrated Japanese architects today, Ryue Nishizawa takes filmmaking duo Bêka & Lemoine on an intimate tour of Tokyo in his beloved vintage Alfa Romeo, Giulia. More than a portrait, in the classical sense, the film renders in its pure spontaneity the experience of this friendly urban drift. Along the drive, Nishizawa narrates his strong relationship with his city through places that have influenced him and some of his own architectural projects, stopping by the home of Kazuyo Sejima, Nishizawa’s fellow co-founding partner at SANAA. Against the backdrop of dreary weather in Tokyo, Nishizawa invites us into his charming personal world for a day.
